Town of Lake Luzerne
Agenda Meeting
September 26, 2022
7:00 PM
Supervisor called the meeting to order with the following present: Councilman Hanlon, Councilman
Fazio and Councilman Niles. Also present: Michael Crowe, Counsel, Karen Putney, ZEO, Ron Deuel,
Highway Supt. And Logan Brooks, Deputy Highway Supt.
Board discussed proposed resolutions for the October 11, 2022 meeting.
Supervisor Merlino spoke of a request by Burgess Ovitt, School Supt. To have a school zone with speed
reduction added by the Hyland Driver School, thinks it will be something that should go through the
state and there is a new company that is requesting permission to hold snowmobile races on the lake in
February 2023 and will get more information.
Councilman Niles said that the TAC (Town Advisory Committee) would like to do a survey using Survey
Monkey, for 3 months it will cost $300.
Adirondack Folk School overview of proposed project and spoke about the Town’s part as far as
combining parcels to allow for new building. They have already secured some grant money and
substantial donations. This will be further discussed as to what needs to be done to move forward.
Karen Putney, ZEO – yearly campground and trailer park inspections have been done, report to follow.
Ron Deuel – Highway Supt. – Mr. Riley spoke at a previous meeting about state contract purchases.
Things have change some since he retired from the state. Going to work with Julie Butler in purchasing
at Warren County to learn more about the “mini” bid process.
A motion to move to executive session to discuss ongoing litigation with no action to be taken and no
further business to be conducted but to adjourn following executive session was made by Councilman
Hanlon, Seconded by Councilman Fazio. All in favor.
