Our Assessor has filed the final 2011 assessment roll.  It can be inspected in this office or viewed on the Warren County website:  www.co.warren.ny.us click on Real Property- then look for Town of Lake Luzerne assessment rolls.  Material is listed in alphabetical order or by tax map numbers.

The Assessor's Office administers all aspects of real property assessment in the Town of Lake Luzerne.   The Assessor identifies all property in the Town and estimates the value of each parcel. The town, county, and school budgets determine the amount of tax to be raised.  The Assessment determines the share each property owner will pay of the total tax levy. We are eager to help property owners understand the valuation process.

There are many exemptions allowed by law. Information pertaining to  exemptions can be found on the New York State website www.tax.ny.gov (click on Top center of page Government & Reseachers then click on left side of page Forms & Instructions) You are encouraged to browse that site at your leisure and print the forms that pertain to you or stop by the assessor's office where forms are available. Please read exemption bullletin below for additional information.

The Board of Assessment Review meets once a year on the 4th Tuesday in May to hear from persons who disagree with their assessment. Currently there are five members. They are:

LAKE LUZERNE PROPERTY OWNERS EXEMPTION BULLETIN

If Lake Luzerne is your PRIMARY residence -- you may be eligible for:

1. BASIC STAR tax exemption -- EVERY homeowner qualifies
2. ENHANCED STAR exemption -- owner must be 65 by December 31st & must have proof of 2010 income LESS than $79,050
3. SENIOR exemption -- 65 years old & income LESS than $23,700
4. VETERANS exemption -- owner must have served on active duty

     Application DEADLINE for ALL EXEMPTIONS is MARCH 1st !!!!
